On Monday, April 1st, Mayor Bowser issued a stay-at-home order . It was an important step that I called for last week because the only way we slow the spread of the dangerous coronavirus is by limiting interaction with other people.
Due to the increasing number of coronavirus cases in our city and across the region, Mayor Bowser issued a stay-at-home order, effective today at 12:01 A.M., for District residents, until April 24th. This order reinforces that residents should stay at home to protect us all and to slow the spread of the coronavirus.
BILL SUMMARY – As introduced, Bill PR23-0772 provides authority to the Executive and to address the critical needs of District residents and businesses during the current public health emergency including wage replacement, business relief, and additional authorities and exemptions regarding health, public safety, and consumer protection.
